"Don’t be afraid to shout about your achievements!"

June 2021 2021

Local firm, PM+M, are supporting the Red Rose Awards 2021 as this year’s Export Award sponsor.

Established in 1919, PM+M is a leading chartered accountancy, business advisory and wealth management firm with offices across the North West.

With 20 categories open for entries, there’s something for all businesses in Lancashire to aim for. The Red Rose Awards celebrates business through sector specific categories, plus categories open to all such as employer of the year, customer service award and the innovation award.

David Gorton, partner at PM+M, explains why the organisation supports the Red Rose Awards 2021.

RRA: How did PM+M first get involved with the Red Rose Awards?

DG: PM+M has supported the Red Rose Awards since they began, having been both sponsors and finalists in previous years.

RRA: What is the most rewarding part of being a sponsor?

DG: Knowing that you have contributed to the success of something else is always a great feeling, so being able to play a role in the growth and ongoing development of the eventual winner of this category will be incredibly rewarding.

RRA: How do you feel that the Red Rose Awards benefit Lancashire?

DG: The awards and its organisers do an excellent job of bringing together the Lancashire business community and celebrating everything we have to offer, as well as encouraging local businesses to really take pride in their own achievements and commitment to investing in Lancashire (whether that’s with regards to skills, innovation, economy etc).

RRA: How do you feel that your involvement with the Red Rose Awards benefits PM+M?

DG: Being a sponsor allows you to connect with entrants in a unique way due to having such a strong involvement in the judging process. With this, you can build genuine, meaningful relationships with the great businesses you meet and take these into the future.

RRA: Do you have any words of advice for businesses who may be considering entering this year?

DG: Our main piece of advice would be to prepare your entry really carefully, make sure you stand out from the crowd during the judging process and ultimately, just go for it! Don’t be afraid to shout about your achievements and the great work you’re doing in Lancashire.

Since the awards were launched in 2011, it has steadily grown and become the centrepiece attraction for the business community.

Businesses interested in entering the awards have until August 20 to submit their entry forms. The finalists will be announced on September 10, and they will then be given the opportunity to put their best case to the judges on September 22 and 23.
