Red Rose Awards: Providing businesses with a platform to raise their profiles

August 2021 2021

We are delighted to announce that Blackpool & The Fylde College is the official judging partner of the Red Rose Awards 2021, the eleventh annual celebration of the Lancashire business community.

Working with over 1,800 partner employers, Blackpool and The Fylde College is a leading provider of employment-focused education and training.

With 20 categories open for entries, there’s something for all businesses in Lancashire to aim for. The Red Rose Awards celebrates business through sector specific categories, plus categories open to all such as employer of the year, customer service award and the innovation award.

We spoke with Sarah Hall, head of business development at Blackpool & The Fylde College, to discuss why they chose to sponsor the Red Rose Awards.

RRA: How did Blackpool & The Fylde College first get involved with the Red Rose Awards?

SH: We have always worked closely with Lancashire Business View and we were keen to be part of the awards as we recognise their importance in the Business Community.

RRA: What changes have you seen in the Red Rose Awards over the years that you have been involved?

SH: Every year the standard of award entries goes from strength to strength - a clear indication that business owners are increasing their commitment to the development and upskilling of their teams.

Every business in Lancashire can enjoy transformational change through specialist training. We've proved this time and again for our diverse and multidisciplinary portfolio of business partners. The Red Rose Awards constantly evolve, with the reputation of the awards continuing to attract and inspire more businesses to get involved, come together and establish valuable relationships.

RRA: What is the most rewarding part of being a sponsor?

SH: We thoroughly enjoy supporting the awards and interacting with some very entrepreneurial, forward thinking and dynamic businesses. The Red Rose Awards champion the best of business in the county, recognising different businesses and celebrating their success is highly rewarding. As ever, B&FC is hugely excited to be part of the Red Rose Awards. We can't wait to celebrate the winners and their achievements!

RRA: How do you feel that the Red Rose Awards benefit Lancashire?

SH: The Red Rose Awards are the most prestigious awards event to promote Lancashire businesses and encourage the Lancashire pound to stay in Lancashire. The awards provide an opportunity for Lancashire based businesses to connect and recognise the value these businesses bring to the local economy. They provide a platform to raise the profile for organisations of different sizes and celebrate their achievements.

RRA: How do you feel that your involvement with the Red Rose Awards benefits Blackpool & The Fylde College?

SH: The Red Rose Awards are a real opportunity to raise our profile and interact with businesses across Lancashire. As a cutting edge training provider, B&FC is passionate about connecting with businesses and helping them succeed. These awards are a way of unearthing great Lancashire based businesses and providing the opportunity for all those involved to grow and benefit.

RRA: Do you have any words of advice for businesses who may be considering entering this year?

SH: The Red Rose awards are a great way to showcase your business, and nobody knows your business better than you. It’s a great opportunity for you to shout about the contribution your business has made to the Lancashire economy and the passion and hard work of your workforce. Enjoy the experience!

Since the awards were launched in 2011, it has steadily grown and become the centrepiece attraction for the business community.
