£5,300 is raised for hospices at Red Rose Awards 2025

April 2025 General News

Lancashire Business View’s Red Rose Awards 2025 event helped to raise more than £5,000 for hospices across Lancashire and South Cumbria.

Since launching in 2011, the awards have honoured organisations of all sizes and sectors.

This was the 15th Red Rose Awards, held at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool in March and it shone the spotlight on the great and good of Lancashire business.

As charity partner, Lancashire and South Cumbria Hospices Together held a fundraising raffle and table collection and £5,354.11 was raised.

The winners of the raffle were Stephen Repton from Flowlio, and Charlotte Porter from Brysdales.

Helen McVey, chair of the Lancashire and South Cumbria Hospices Together, said: “Due to the current financial climate it is a particularly challenging time for hospices in Lancashire and South Cumbria, especially as the need for our services continues to grow.

“We are very grateful to Lancashire Business View for choosing Lancashire and South Cumbria Hospice Collaborative as their charity and thank all businesses who contributed on the night.

“Our business community across Lancashire makes a considerable contribution to patient care in our hospices each year meaning that we can continue to support the people who need our services, their families and carers”.

Richard Slater, chairman of Lancashire Business View, said: “We’re proud to support such an important cause and grateful to everyone who contributed to making a real difference.”

More than 24 different awards were handed out and the big winners were Dennis Eagle and Darwen Terracotta who collected two awards each while Cavity Extraction lifted the Lancashire Business View Award.
