New-look Red Rose Awards to return in 2021

December 2020 2021

The Red Rose Awards, Lancashire’s biggest business awards event, is to return in 2021 with a new look, new categories, new trophies and a new date.

The awards programme regularly attracts hundreds of entries from Lancashire companies hoping to win one of the sought-after locally-made trophies. More than 1,000 guests attend each year’s glittering prize-giving ceremony held within Blackpool’s Winter Gardens.

This year, due to impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the awards ceremony has moved from its regular date in March and will take place on Thursday 24 June 2021.

And to mark ten years since the first Red Rose Awards programme was held, a new brand has been unveiled, complete with all-new trophies crafted by Lancashire engineers.

The awards will also feature a number of new categories to better reflect the county’s make-up and the changing business landscape. The new additions include the Go Green Award, Made in Lancashire Award and Scale-up Award, as well as specific categories for professional services, marketing agencies and those working within the built environment sector.

Richard Slater, publisher of Lancashire Business View magazine and founder of the Red Rose Awards, said: “Our awards are a showcase of everything that is great about doing business in Lancashire. The last year has been extremely testing for many organisations, but there are also many stories of resilience and creativity that we can share to inspire others.

“This year marks ten years since we hosted the first Red Rose Awards and we are delighted to introduce our new branding and hope it will inspire a truly memorable celebration in 2021!”

The Red Rose Awards sources its food, entertainment and other supplies from Lancashire businesses and the new-look trophies will be no different.

Lance Corrigan of Magnificent Studio, who designed the branding, said: “We want Lancashire businesses to make their mark and aim to be the best in their field, and so we designed the new brand and winners’ trophies to feature both the red rose of Lancashire and a target icon. It’s a badge of honour for finalists, winners and supporters of the awards.”
