When do the Awards open for entry?

Entries open on 8 November 2016.

When is the closing date for entries?

All entries must be received by midnight on Friday 13 January 2017.

What are the Red Rose Award’s categories?

A full list of categories is available on our enter page, viewable by clicking ‘enter’ at the top of this page.

How many categories can I enter?

You can enter a maximum of four different categories.

What makes a company eligible to enter the awards?

To be eligible, your business must be based within the current Lancashire county boundaries. For clarity, this means you must pay business rates in one of the following district or unitary boroughs:

  • Blackburn with Darwen
  • Blackpool
  • Burnley
  • Chorley
  • Fylde
  • Hyndburn
  • Lancaster
  • Pendle
  • Preston
  • Ribble Valley
  • Rossendale
  • South Ribble
  • West Lancashire
  • Wyre

What are the Red Rose Award rules?

The following rules apply –

  • The organisers reserve the right to amend or remove award categories
  • The organisers reserve the right to re-assign an entry to another category
  • Entrants acknowledge and agree that material from entry forms may be used in the event brochure and other marketing materials
  • Entrants should mark as confidential any elements of their entry they do not wish to be used for the event brochure or other marketing materials
  • Decisions of judges are final.

How do I enter the Awards?

Entry is through our dedicated the online entry forms only available on the website until 13 January 2017.

What is the best way to enter the awards?

We suggest that you save your entry in to a document and then paste your answers in to the entry form when you are ready to enter.

Do I have to stick to the word count limits?

Yes. You will be unable to exceed the word count limit when you enter your submission in to our online entry forms.

What help is available when entering the awards?

Throughout the entry form you will see an ‘info’ icon next to certain questions. Here we’ve included further information to support you in completing your entry so make sure you hover over the icon to view this.

What happens when I submit my entry?

You will receive an email confirmation so you can be sure we have received your entry form. Provisionally mark out February 8 and 9 on your calendar as this is when the judging will take place should you be named a finalist.

Do I have to pay to enter the awards?

No. The Red Rose Awards are free to enter.

Awards Judging

When does the award judging take place?

All written entries will be scrutinised by our judges on the pre-score day held week commencing 26 January 2017.

Interviews will take place on 8 and 9 February 2017 – this dates cannot be changed so add them to your diary now!

When will the finalists be announced?

All finalists will be notified on Monday 30 January 2017 by email.

Finalists will be invited to meet a judging panel for interview on February 8 or 9. These dates cannot be changed.

Who will be on the judging panel?

The Red Rose Awards are judged by panels made up of independent business experts and sponsors.

What format does the interview take?

You will be asked to introduce yourself to the judges and make a ten minute presentation. There will then be ten minutes for questions and answers.
