Family Business Award

This award celebrates businesses where family ownership and involvement are central to the way the business is led, run and developed. 

It is open to family-owned and family-run businesses of all sizes and sectors. Entrants should clearly identify the family members involved and explain the roles they play, whether the business is first generation or fifth generation. 

Judges will be looking for strong values, clear roles and effective decision-making, alongside evidence that the business is planning for the future. This could include succession, leadership development and the use of non-family expertise where appropriate. 

Judges will want to see: 

• Clear identification of active family members and their roles 
• How family values and culture shape the business 
• Strong governance and effective decision-making 
• Succession planning and leadership development 
• Evidence that family ownership and involvement contribute to resilience, performance or reputation
