New Business Award

This award recognises early-stage businesses from all sectors that have launched with purpose and are already making their mark in Lancashire. 

Businesses must have started trading after 11 March 2024 and be able to demonstrate active operations, a clear strategy and strong early progress. 

Judges will want to understand why the business was created, what progress has been made and how strong foundations are being built across customers, operations, finance and people. 

This category is not for spin-outs, new branches or rebrands of existing businesses. It is for genuinely new businesses created from scratch. 

Judges will want to see: 

• Why the business was created and the opportunity or problem it addresses 
• Early evidence of traction, such as customers, income, partnerships or impact 
• A clear and workable business model 
• Strength of the team and developing capability 
• Ambition for growth and evidence that the foundations are being put in place
